Elephone P3000S up on pre-sale; 2 GB RAM variant for $140, 3 GB for $ 180

Elephone isn't the most reputed brand around, but when it comes to value for money devices, it isn't too far behind others. Elephone's latest launch, the P3000S is now up for pre-order for as low as $140 for the 2 GB RAM variant. If you would rather have the 3 GB RAM variant, you'll need to cough up another $40.

Apart from the good amount of RAM, the P3000S has great specifications (at least on paper, we haven't tested the device) for the price point it is available at. The Elephone P3000S has a 5 inch 720p display, at a pixel density of around 312 ppi, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by a 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6592 Octa-core chipset and Mali-450MP GPU. 16 GB internal storage is present, which can be expanded by another 128 GB using external sd card, along with 2 or 3 GB of RAM, depending on the variant. On the camera front, we have a 13 MP shooter at the back, while there is a 8 MP camera at the front, for the sake of selfies.

Talking about connectivity, the phone supports 4G LTE networks, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. A 3150 mAh battery provides the required power to use the phone. A couple interesting features, unheard of at this price point, include a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device, along with NFC support. Elephone has also added some extra features on the software front, the most prominent of them being gesture recognition. Android 4.4 Kitkat comes installed on the phone, and there are no words whether the phone will receive any updates to Android 5.0

Finally, coming to the availability of the phone, the 2 GB variant of the Elephone P3000S is available right now, and can be bought for $139.98 using the coupon EP3000S, while the 3 GB variant can be pre-booked for $180.98, when you use the coupon EP3GB. Concluding this article, the phone does seem to be a great buy at the price it is available for, if only you have no problem going with a not-so-known brand.
