Landvo L500S is the cheapest octa-core you can buy

THanks to the overwhelming speed at which specifications boost every year in the smartphone industry, even less than a $100 note can get you a decent smartphone. One good example would be the Landvo L500S, which is the cheapest octa-core phone right now, priced ridiculously low at $70.

Apart from the fact that the phone comes from a company never heard of before, the specifications aren't too exciting either, except that the processor is a decent 1.4 GHz MT6592 Octa-core which combined with a 1 Gigabyte of RAM, should provide a good level of performance. Coming to the display section, the phone comes with a 5 inch screen with a below par resolution of 854x480 (FWVGA). Thanks to the screen size, the display quality would not be crisp and everything, including icons, would look pixelated on this phone. The camera section is a disappointment too, at least on paper, with a 5 MP shooter on the back, and a 2 MP one on the front side. We've grown pretty accustomed to 8 MP camera units even on smartphones that sell at $100. As the phone isn't even $100, we should probably cut it some slack for the mediocrity of its specifications.

This dual siim phone is powered by a 1800 mAh battery, and the phone runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat. The 8 gb on-board storage can be expanded by inserting an external sd card. The phone is 160 grams, which is pretty heavy for a phone of this size. The dimensions are 142 x 71.4 x 8.9 mm.

So all in all, the phone is a decent buy if you are very tight on budget. You can pre-order the phone via Gearbest. However, if you can increase your budget to around 100 dollars, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Moto E and Lenovo A6000 would definitely be a better choice.
