Whatsapp down since past two hours just after Facebook acquirement

It's been just two days since Facebook bought Whatsapp for a mind-boggling $19 billion. Despite the recently updated Android app, which allows users to fine tune their privacy on Whatsapp, two hours down time isn't a good thing for Whatsapp so early after its acquirement has suffered a major dent on its reliability as the service has been down since the past two hours.

It would be interesting to hear from Whatsapp about why the down time actually took place. Though Facebook and Twitter users have been joking that Zuck would be adding ads on Whatsapp, it is pretty unlikely that Facebook would have anything to do with this down time as the acquirement will still take a long time to go through.

When we open Whatsapp and try to send a message, the message delivery icon stays at connecting to server forever. This generally happens when we open Whatsapp when we are not connected to the internet.
