Yu Yuphoria has been one of the most anticipated phones in India recently, thanks to the fact that Yureka sold like hot cakes because of its value for money factor. Yu, Micromax's new brand, continues the same way with the Yu Yuphoria. The Yuphoria packs some great specifications, and has been priced at Rs. 6,999 in India.
Yuphoria also runs on Android 5.0 based Cyanogenmod 12 ROM, which was recently pushed as an OTA update to the Yureka users. So the user interface will be almost the same, and features like app themer would be available on Yuphoria too.
On the hardware side, the phone packs a 5 inch AMOLED screen, which is known for dark blacks, with a 1280x720 pixels resolution to churn out a pixel density of 294. The processor is a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, like we have seen on Moto G 2nd Gen., Xiaomi Redmi 2 and several others. Yuphoria packs 2 GB RAM, like its elder sibling, thus outperforming similarly priced phones like Lenovo A6000 and Redmi 2.
Apart from this, there is a 2350 mAh battery powering the device. Gorilla Glass 3 intends to protect Yuphoria's screen from scratches and occasional falls. As for the camera, there is a 8 MP shooter at the back, which can record Full HD videos, and a 5 MP one at the front side. Another interesting feature here is that the phone supports Quick Charge 1.0, and it will take only around 45 minutes to charge the phone from 0 to 65%. This should be a great news for those who stay on the go during most of their day.
We think that the phone is aptly priced at Rs. 6,999 in India, and if it is free from the glitches that we observed on the Yureka (like the heating issue, which is probably because of Snapdragon 615, and the proximity sensor issue), then this phone would be a great buy, if you can get your hands on one, that is.
