How to Root LG Optimus L5 E610

LG Optimus L5 is a nice smartphone from LG which falls in the mid-end segment of the L series that LG has launched, perhaps in order to compete with Smasung's wildly popular S series of smartphones. The phone packs a decent 800 MHz processor along with a 4" inch screen with a considerably low resolution of 320x480. The phone is praise for its camera though. In this article, I shall disclose the secret of rooting the LG Optimus L5 easily.

  1. Go to Settings > Development > USB Debugging and make sure USB debugging is enabled.
  2. Install drivers for your device on a windows PC using  pdanet and this guide.
  3. Download the rooting kit for LG Optimus L5.
  4. Extract the downloaded file anywhere you want.

  5. Connect your LG device using USB cable. Don't enable Media Transfer mode or USB Tethering. Just let it stay connected as it is.
  6. Go to the folder you extracted in step #4. Run the file named root.bat
    The command prompt that opens once you run root.bat
  7. After a while, your phone will reboot.
  8. Say Hurray! You can now enjoy all the perks of Rooting on your just rooted phone.
