Samsung Galaxy Win with Quad Core processor launched for INR 17,900

Samsung has been struggling in the mid-end price segment in India lately, thanks to the success of Canvas series by Micromax. Not only Micromax, a lot of other Indian brands have managed to pull off Quad core phones for less than INR 15k. This time, Samsung aims to blow them over by the aggressive pricing for one of their latest launches, Galaxy Win, in India.

Going by the specs and the brand name, Samsung Galaxy Win I8550 (dual sim version has the model number I8552) seems to be a powerful phone. Though the Quad Core processot it packs seems to be less powerful than the one packed by Canvas HD and the likes, we still hope that Samsung, being a leader in Android hardware, will still be able to make it a powerhouse. Let us talk about the detailed specifications of the device:

  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor
  • Qualcomm MSM8625Q Snapdragon 200 (seems like a outdated processor)
  • Adreno 203 GPU
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 8 GB Internal Memory (expandable up to 32 GB)
  • 5 MP Rear Camera with 720p recording, VGA camera at the front
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
  • 4.7 Inch TFT Capacitive Touch screen
  • 480x800 resolution with 199 ppi density
  • Gorilla Glass Protection
If I was thinking about buying Canvas HD, and was in a position to shell out INR 3-4k more, than I would probably go for the Samsung offering. What about you?
