Asus Zenfone 2 goes on pre-order; 2 GB variant for $252, 4 GB for $338

Asus has made a name for itself, in the Indian as well as world market, with its Zenfone series. Asus had announced the Zenfone 2 back in CES, which was very well-appreciated by the tech crowd, especially for the fact that one variant of the phone packs an unbelievable 4 GB of RAM. Even the flagship phones in the market right now are having 3 GB of RAM, so this makes this phone very special.

Apart from the 4 GB of RAM, the Zenfone 2 has a 5.5 inch screen with Full HD resolution. Like the other phones in the Zenfone lineup, the Zenfone 2 is powered by an Intel processor, this time a powerful Z3580 2.3 GHz quad-core processor which happens to be a 64-bit one. On the GPU front, the phone packs a PowerVR G6430 which supports OpenGL 3.0. Thanks to this combination of CPU and GPU, Asus claims that gaming performance has improved by seven times, when compared to the previous Zenfone, though whether this claim lives up is anyone's guess right now.

A 13 megapixel shooter at the rear with f2.0 aperture seems promising for good low-light imaging. At the front, we have a 5 MP wide-angle front camera to help you snap some selfies. On the connectivity front, the phone supports 4G LTE networks, so all in all, these specifications look pretty future-proof as of now.

The phone has 32 GB in-built storage, which can be further expanded by using micro sd cards of up to 64 GB capacity. The battery is a 3000 mAh one, so it should last through at least a day of moderate usage. When it comes to the dimensions however, the Zenfone 2 is 10.9 mm thick, and weighs a hefty 170 grams.

Finally, coming to the availability and pricing part, the pre-orders for Zenfone 2 began on 10th April at Gearbest, and will go on till April 25. Using the coupon code ASUSZ2, you can pre-order the 4 GB variant for $338.42 and the 2 GB variant for $252.66. Both the variants seem worth the price tag they come for, and are from a reputed brand, so there's not much that should stop you from getting yourself one.
