Here’s What You Need to Know about Zenith Watches

Since 1865, Zenith has been developing modernistic watches with enormous features for every generation, and still holding its safe position in the list of high-quality Swiss watchmakers. It also had been a part of many history-making events. The famous one was when Felix Baumgartner performed an astronomical height jump which not only he survived but also the Zenith Stratos Flyback Striking 10th on his wrist. This proves that the brand never compromises on the quality of its unique products.

History

The company was originally started by George Favre-Jacot, the founder of the brand. He devoted himself to the Zenith at the age of 22, in 1885. Jacot only had an aim to make a revolutionary step in the watchmaking industry. He gathered all the craftsman experts in a single factory and in 1900, Zenith was presented the Grand Prix award for the optimal performance of its caliber. The brand’s headquarters was established in Le Locle, Neuchatel Switzerland. In 1984, Charles Vermont gathered all the technical ideas to start the production of the high-quality seminal automatic high-frequency chronograph movement.

Passing through multiple eras and having a huge percentage of success, Zenith is still producing different collections with a more iconic look and modernistic design with a touch of decency. Each collection has a different tag-line which reflects the characteristic of fine watchmaking.

It was the revolutionary step by the brand to introduce the world with such innovative thinking with a futuristic design. In 1975, due to an overwhelming quartz movement, the company decided to cease the production of El Primero. Charles was appalled by the decision at that time. After 10 years of working, Charles Vermot re-introduce this caliber. He is still remembered as the savior of super-awesome seminal automatic high-frequency chronographs.
